This story aims to explain ordinal numbers—first, second, and third—to children through an entertaining and imaginative tale. The girl blows up the first balloon, which rises, then the second, which rises as well. When she inflates the third balloon, the entire house lifts off and floats into space. When she decides to return, she pops the balloons in order: first, then second, then third. As the house lands on the ground, its walls fall first, its roof second, and finally, its chimney.
